Brief Company Description

Sage V Foods has been in business since 1992 and has been operating under the name Sage V Foods since 1998.  The main plant has been in Freeport, Texas, but Sage is now relocating most of its production facilities into Arkansas.

Sage V Foods produces rice-based ingredients for the food industry.  Most products such as rice flour, crisp rice, and instant rice are sold to large food companies.  Some of the frozen products are sold directly into retail or to restaurant chains.  A trip to the grocery store would find Sage V Foods products on almost every aisle.  You can find our “Rice Expressions” brand of frozen rice in the natural section of Kroger’s in Little Rock .

In 2006, Sage built a new plant in Stuttgart, Arkansas. This plant produces rice flour and other dry rice-based ingredients. This plant is highly automated, and currently employs about 40 to 50 people.  This plant has been expanded twice since 2006 and continues to grow.

We are currently building a plant in the port of Little Rock.  We expect the plant to start operations in March/April of 2009. This plant will primarily cook and freeze rice.  We expect to employee between 60 and 100 people at this location within the first year. Our plants normally operate on a continuous production schedule of either 5 or 7 days.
