SPECIALTY VARIETIES OF RICE
Include rice varieties such as Italian Arborio, Thai Jasmine, Indian Basmati, Japanese Short Grain, Japanese Mochi, Wild Rice, Red Rice, Black Rice, and others.  Some of these varieties are now grown in the United States and some are still imported.  The founder and president of the company was the Senior VP of Marketing for the largest rice milling and exporting company in the U.S. for 6 years in the late 1980's.  During this time period, he spent most of his time traveling the world buying and selling rice, and studying the varieties grown in different countries.  Sage V Foods takes advantage of this knowledge to help customers source specialty varieties.

Sage V Foods contracts directly with growers in California to grow Mochi rice, Italian Arborio type rice, and Organic rice.  The company works closely with farmers and manages the drying, storage, and milling of the rice.  The company can import specialty varieties of rice and then have a mill reprocess the rice in the U.S. to make the rice suitable for industrial markets.

Sage V Foods contracts with growers to grow ORGANIC RICE in California.  The growers are CCOF certified.  Sage V Foods operates its own organic drying and storage facility and oversees the milling of the rice.  (Sage V Foods is a certified processor by CCOF and the Texas Dept. of Agriculture.)  The company sells the rice as certified organic rice or further processes the rice to sell Instant Organic Rice, IQF Organic Rice, or Organic Rice Flour.
